The first thing you’ll notice is our new look. Guided by simplicity and modernity, we’ve adopted a monochromatic color palette across all our products (with support for light and dark mode), relying on our new Paxful lime-green to guide users to key actions, messages, and next steps.

We’ve spent the year learning from our growing community and built our new web and mobile experiences directly with their requests and needs in mind. We’ve rebuilt the entire Paxful experience from the ground up to make trading simpler, safer, and faster – while incorporating education and alerts that have been instrumental to our top traders. We hope these changes not only make trading on Paxful smoother, but also let every user gradually become a peer-to-peer expert as they trade on our products.

We believe that any successful marketplace must offer a robust compliance regime to ensure its traders are who they say they are, all to keep both Paxful and its customers safe.

This year, Paxful has been developing new processes, teams and tools to deliver a compliance program that meets the necessary requirements of running a global P2P marketplace like ours.

Our compliance initiatives aim to protect you from interacting with sanctioned individuals or high-risk wallets that might put your account or finances at risk. We diligently manage customer identities under strict adherence to various global rules and regulations, and we are working to support countless payment methods and assets across 150 jurisdictions.

By enhancing automation and verification for ID checks, integrating advanced crypto forensics, and expanding our dedicated in-house staff, we are delivering faster and more accurate onboarding. These efforts are designed to minimize risks such as ID theft and block high-risk sendouts, ultimately protecting users from known scams.

In Safety: proactive AI-powered scam pattern detection, trained by experts

Whether buying a pre-owned car, a used jacket or a gift card from abroad, peer-to-peer trading carries certain risks. That’s why our users choose to trade on Paxful, where a seasoned moderator team, the latest in anti-scam tooling, and independent cryptocurrency escrow make us a safe and trusted people-powered marketplace.

How does Paxful achieve safety at scale? By leveraging all the data of our marketplace and support infrastructure to automate scam pattern detection and response, market-wide. We’re accomplishing this by training a large language model on years of actions by our expert moderators, the daily and historical flow of user support requests, and hundreds of distinct data points from our marketplace.

With this data, we’re responding to emerging fraud trends, detecting suspicious behavior among whole user clusters, and taking the appropriate response at a device level – thereby severely limiting repeat offenders. Across the entire flow, our expert team remains in the loop, overseeing and intervening as necessary to a fair and efficient market.

Since January, our enhanced safety measures have significantly improved the security of our platform: we’ve disabled thousands of problematic accounts, ensured that a higher percentage of transactions are completed successfully, and effectively eliminated certain fraudulent activities, such as spam offers, from the marketplace.

While select users have already experienced our AI-powered safety features directly, the whole marketplace already benefits from these fraud prevention features – and the improvements in trading speed and safety. We’re proud to say in Safety, the best is yet to come, with a broader rollout of consumer-facing safety features by the end of the year.

In Support: accelerated dispute resolution & automated merit-based badging plus perks

Have a support question or P2P transaction issue? Paxful is proud to offer 24/7 global support and impartial dispute resolution to all our users, rated 4.5/5 on TrustPilot. We’re committed to continuously improving our support experience – which means offering better support, even faster.

This year has seen big and small support improvements in both platform support and dispute resolution, with just two favorites highlighted:

• In support, we’ve developed AI chatbot support as an upgrade to our self-serve knowledge base and email support, with rave reviews from top traders as part of a staggered rollout.
• In dispute resolution, we’ve accelerated dispute response to known scam patterns (like coinlocking and attempts to move the conversation off-platform) to keep users safer while freeing up help capital sooner.

Automation is expected to reach other parts of the platform soon, all with the intent of delivering more value and control directly to the user, even sooner in the interaction. In this vein, look for future updates to improve response speeds, improve transparency, and promote user agency – while keeping impartial human experts in the loop to guarantee fairness.
